How to Change or Recover Your Registered Phone Number on Coins.ph
Protect your e-wallet or mobile bank by updating your mobile number in case you lose access.

If you are planning to change the phone number registered to your Coins.ph account, or if you have lost the SIM card associated with it, this guide is for you. Updating a mobile number in financial apps is a serious matter, as these platforms prioritize account security.

While some apps require a 7-day waiting period or an exhausting list of requirements, Coins.ph is more straightforward than you might think. Before starting, ensure your app is updated to the latest version.

The Challenge of OTPs

If you still have access to your account via Google or email, you might assume changing the number is easy. However, most apps require an OTP (One-Time Password) sent to the old number to authorize changes. If you’ve lost that SIM, you’ll need to follow the recovery process below.

Steps to change your Mobile Number on Coins.ph

Step 1: Contact Support via Coinsbot

If you are stuck, use the Coins.ph chatbot, Coinsbot, for assistance:
  • Go to the Profile tab.
  • Navigate to the Help section.
  • Send your concern to the chatbot.
  • After the bot processes your initial query, a customer service representative will take over the conversation.

Step 2: Account Deactivation for Security

To protect your funds, the representative will quickly deactivate your account while you perform the update. While still in communication with them, follow these steps:
  • Open the Coins.ph app and go to the Log In page.
  • Tap the Question Mark (?) icon in the upper-right corner. This is your entry point for the recovery process.

Step 3: Inputting New Information

The app will ask for your old mobile number. (If you are using the same phone, it may even autofill).
  • Tap "Next," then enter the new mobile number you wish to use.
  • Verify the new number via the OTP sent to it.
  • Inform the representative in your active chat that you have completed these steps.

Step 4: Verification and Reactivation

The process isn't instant; it typically takes 24 hours or an hour to process the change.
  • Open the app and log in using your Google account or email.
  • You will see a prompt for Reactivation Requirements.
  • Take a clear photo of your valid ID and upload it as requested.

Once verified, your account will be fully recovered. You can now enjoy using Coins.ph with your new number!
