Practical Farming Practice for Sustainable Agriculture: Balancing Environmental Impact and Food Security

Sustainable Agriculture
The Sustainable Agriculture aims to address the challenges of feeding the world's growing population over a long period. As the world's population continues to increase, agricultural land is being converted into industrial land, which leaves less space for farming. This trend may not meet the needs of every nation in the future.

Food security could be compromised if we don't produce healthy crops in large volumes. Plant engineering might be our last resort if we don't address this global issue. Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) are likely to become a major source of food in the future. GMOs undergo genetic modifications to enhance their traits and characteristics for specific purposes, such as producing high-yield crops, larger offspring in animals, and climate-tolerant organisms. How can we address the implications of relying on these future crops and animals?

How can we ensure that agriculture becomes sustainable without sacrificing food security?
Land caring is essential for sustaining the food needed by the world. The use of organic fertilizer can help in building healthy soil and promoting microhabitats. Microorganisms play a vital role in developing good soil texture and fertility for plant growth. Taking care of the soil profile will support surface structure and soil nutrients.
The use of organic fertilizers can help in the efforts to ensure food security and in the creation of a nation that is free from toxins and genetically modified (GMO) foods. While GMO crops have the potential to address food shortages, they may require more nutrients or synthetic substances, which can have negative effects on the land. Although synthetic fertilizers are necessary to enhance the crops' ability to produce food, it would be preferable to have hybrid crops that require minimal support from synthetic fertilizers.
In honest world Agriculture assessment, pure organic fertilizer may not increase food production in reality but it can promote the growth of healthy crops and maintain the soil's ability to retain essential nutrients for plants and organisms availability. Organic farming can benefit the land over a longer period of time compared to land treated alone with synthetic fertilizers. Synthetic can cause high acidity.

The practical choice for sustainable agriculture is the combination of synthetic and organic fertilizers. While organic fertilizers alone may not be able to meet the demands of global food supplies, integrating them with synthetic fertilizers can help maintain food supply balance without compromising food safety.

The benefits of Combining Organic fertilizers with Inorganic fertilizers
Organic fertilizers are beneficial for creating habitats for microorganisms and providing essential nutrients for plants. Microorganisms help break down organic materials in the soil, create pore structures, and improve water retention. It's best to apply organic fertilizers before preparing the land to allow microorganisms to enhance the soil and attract more organisms, which can help decompose any synthetic additives in the soil.

The proper and minimal application of inorganic fertilizers while growing your crops to the vegetation stage is required to produce a huge volume of crops. To avoid over-fertilizing the soil it is better to practice soil sampling analysis, this will help minimize possible costs loss from fertilizers, and at the same time we can't overly acidify the soil. Acidic soil is the result of continuous application of pure synthetic fertilizers this would not be favorable to organisms and can cause death to microorganisms on the land surface.

To promote a balanced environment and maintain the habitation of microorganisms, organic matters are incorporated into the soil surface after harvesting prior to land preparation. This will attract more roundworms and other microorganisms to the field. Their presence is a sign of healthy and sustainable soil.
