The Department of Energy (DOE) has officially announced a massive adjustment in pump prices effective for the week of March 10 to 16, 2026. In an unprecedented move to shield consumers from a single, overwhelming price shock, the DOE and local oil companies have agreed to implement these hikes on a staggered basis.
The adjustments, triggered by severe supply disruptions such as the war in the Middle East, represent some of the highest weekly increases in recent years.
According to the DOE, the price increase for gasoline is ₱7.00 – ₱13.00 per liter, ₱17.50 – ₱24.25 per liter for diesel, and ₱32.00 – ₱38.50 per liter for kerosene.
A series of increases will be implemented following the surge of oil prices in the world market. Dubai crude increased by $18.00 per barrel. Likewise, the price of gasoline increased by $22.00 per barrel on the international market, along with diesel. Kerosene respectively increased by $46.00 to $75.00 per barrel, based on data provided by the DOE.
