New "Coins.ph" Phishing Scam Targets Users via Pop-Ups

If you received a notification today urging you to "verify your account" to unlock your funds, stop and breathe. You are likely being targeted by a sophisticated phishing campaign designed to drain your crypto wallet.

Here is a breakdown of how this specific March 8, 2026, scam works and how to protect yourself.

The attackers have gone to great lengths to mimic the official Coins.ph interface. By copying the exact logos, typography, and button styles, they create a false sense of urgency and legitimacy.

The link https://coins-ph-verify-id495842342.vip/... is a dead giveaway. Official Coins.ph links will always end in .ph. The use of .vip is a common tactic for disposable scam sites.

The site displays a prominent box with red text claiming your account is locked and you cannot withdraw or transfer funds. This is designed to make you panic and bypass your better judgment.

They claim your Know Your Customer (KYC) verification is pending. This is a clever hook because KYC is a standard, often frustrating part of crypto banking.

How the Trap Closes

Once you click the "Verify" button, the site doesn't ask for your ID. Instead, it presents a list of different crypto wallets.

By selecting a wallet, you will likely be prompted to enter your Seed Phrase (Recovery Phrase) or connect your wallet via a malicious script. If you provide this information, the scammers will have full access to your assets and will drain them instantly.

Do Not Click: If you see the pop-up, close your browser tab immediately.
Verify via the Official App: If you are worried about your account status, open the official Coins.ph app directly or type coins.ph manually into your browser. Do not use the link provided in the notification.
Clear Your Cache: If you clicked the link, it’s a good idea to clear your browser cookies and cache to remove any tracking scripts.
